Benefits of Mindful Eating
What do you know about Mindful Eating?
There is nothing wrong with following a meal plan, timed nutrition or specific eating methods, but it’s probably in your better interest to do it for short periods as a reset or jump start versus a lifestyle. Often times it can lead us away from being in tune & connected with our body, and some people end up experiencing disordered eating or the opposite of true health. For long-term healthy eating habits, it’s important to be aware of your own body’s rhythms, hunger cues/hormones, and create mindful healthy habits that support YOUR body in the best ways. While mindful eating for your body & life takes awareness you may not find easy, it’s actually a really cool milestone to take healthy eating education + awareness of YOUR own body and adopt a mindful eating practice. If you want to explore these practices, but don’t know how to start… I can help you through it!
Here are a few benefits associated with Mindful Eating:
Sense intuitively when you are full (physical cues like a small full burp)
Gain way more satisfaction from eating (truly enjoying food vs forcing specific foods)
Develop a healthy relationship with food (feel adventurous & flexible)
See food as medicine (as nourishing, protective, & healing)
Discover new tastes & textures (have FUN with food)
Improve digestion (less gas & bloating, not all “healthy” foods are healthy for you)
Regulate bowel movements (proper daily elimination is key for optimum health)
Discover food sensitivities (there are certain symptoms to become aware of, and there’s also a hair test I can facilitate for you to undercover food sensitivities & intolerances!)
Create healthy habits that enliven you (you’re not meant to spend your life obsessing over your body, your food, or your health in unhealthy ways!)
I know it can be challenging to learn how to eat healthy for your body “without a plan”, but I assure you that it’s possible for you to create peace & ease with mindful eating behavior. I’d love to support you if you want guidance in creating this type of healthy practice! Contact me to chat!
